Defence Community Organisation (DCO) provides a broad range of individual and program related services to the ADF community. DCO also provides assistance in the case of accident, illness, hospitalisation, and financial difficulty and in managing casualties and estates at times of bereavement.

DCO have a range of family support resources such as bears (different to our Service Bears) and books featuring Sapper Pat the bear, and Pepper N Guin the penguin. These resources are provided at no cost to families and can be organised by contacting your local DCO office.

Defence Special Needs Support Group (DSNSG) is the only Australian charity dedicated to providing support, information and assistance to Defence families who have someone with special needs. The site contains links to regional and local DSNSG support groups and to special-needs information at a local, state, national and international level.

The Partners of Veterans Assoc Inc (P.V.A.) endeavours to inform members of their rights, entitlements and avenues of support available throughout the Veteran and wider community and to educate the general and Veteran community of problems faced by veterans' families.

Young Diggers provides services like compensation, welfare, military to civilian transition and family advice for all serving and ex-serving personnel of the Australian or New Zealand Defence Forces. Whether you, or a family member, has served in the Army, Navy or Air Force on operational deployment , peacekeeping missions or during peace time, they are here for you.

Defence Families of Australia (DFA) is a group formed to represent the views of Defence families. Defence families can contact DFA to represent them regarding an individual situation or to advocate an issue concerning many families.

The VVCS – Veterans and Veterans Families Counselling Service provides counselling and group programs to Australian veterans, peacekeepers and their families.  It is a specialised, free and confidential Australia-wide service. Phone 1800 011 046 for 24-hour assistance.
